Recorded during their "Una Noche en La Habana" show at iconic Berlin, which has been hailed as the best Cuban show, presents the Buena Vista All Stars' masterful blend of traditional Cuban music, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and contemporary flair. The single is a testament to the enduring legacy of Compay Segundo's timeless classic, "Chan Chan."
Chan Chan, Live from Berlin" is newsworthy not only because of its exceptional musical quality but also due to its cultural significance. The new single serves as a poignant reminder of the power of music to transcend borders and generations, while celebrating the Buena Vista All Stars' enduring contribution to the world music scene.
Nobody channels the spirit of Cuban music like the Buena Vista All Stars nowadays. Under the masterful direction of Demetrio Muniz, the ensemble features an impressive lineup of 13 all-star Cuban musicians, including original members of the iconic group Barbarito Torres, the master of Laud, and trumpet virtuoso Manuel Machado. Together, they bring to life the most iconic Cuban son, "Chan Chan," in a way that will leave audiences mesmerized.
Since its premiere in August 2023 at the Arsht Centre, the Buena Vista All Stars has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues and festivals, including Auditorio Nacional Mexico City, Dubai Opera, Amare Den Haag, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center, Jazz Caffe Festival in London, Cheltenham Festival, Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, and Belgrade Jazz Festival, Istanbul Harbiye Open Air, among others. The ensemble has sold over 60,000 tickets in 17 cities across 3 continents, with 14 sold-out shows.
The Buena Vista All Stars will embark on a world tour starting May 5th in London, which promises to be a busy year with 15 shows already confirmed in Europe and more to come in America, South America, Middle East, Asia, and Australia, including India. The orchestra will perform at some of the most iconic venues in the world in 2025, following their huge success at Auditorio Nacional in 2024.
